Look what was in my yard!!!

A few days ago, mom was making dinner and thought, "why am I hearing a turkey?" and then looked out the window and saw THIS and ran to get the camera!

I know a lot of people have wild turkeys in their yards all the time, but this is the first time in the 2 years we've lived here that I've seen one in our neighborhood (although there are plenty in the fields near us) let alone, that it came over our 6 foot fence!

I was barking like crazy, and REALLY wanted to go outside and chase it. Mom made me go sit on the sofa, even though I REALLY didn't want to. Can you believe it?!? :-(

She just took pictures of it walking around, while it CLEARLY is saying here, "Cloud! PLEASE come outside and chase me around the yard. It will be SO much fun..."

And there I was, stuck on the sofa during dis once in a lifetime moment...

Not cool, mom. Not cool...

Finally, the turkey had enough walking around and flew over the fence.

Mom says wild turkeys are very beautiful and intelligent birds and are fun to watch. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...
The good news is, she said if we start being invaded by wild turkeys and they become a pest, then I will be allowed to go outside and scare them away. But for now, dis one got a free pass.

Gosh, your Mom ruined all your fun! Well, don't feel bad. Mom's are just like that. The good part is that if he comes back and brings his friends then you can chase him! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

We run into a pair of wild turkeys on our walks - if only we didn't have those darn leashes on.

That turkey must think you're a giant wimp... he's probably told all his friends too. Your suave meter is dropping like a rock Cloud:(

Maybe I'll head up your way next. I could help you get your mojo back. No complaints about the tractor... it's a sweet ride if you're not in a hurry.

I'm with your Mom and the WT found its way out, so all is well. Almost well, anyway.

Just hope for that big day she comes back with about 20 of her pals and you can go nutz chasing them. Maybe she was scouting you out for a safe nesting area! Did you think of that.

Cloud I think Mom was looking out for your well being. Say this out loud WILD turkey....oh brudder you don't want to be messing with it.
However, if it continues to visit and becomes a nuisance all your furiends will come in mass to help you encourage to go elsewhere.

Mom loves all tea and yes she has tried the green tea. My human sister is a tea expert (snob) so only uses tea leaves. Your mom will never be shunned here just because she doesn't like sweet tea.

Wow! We have NEVER had anything that interesting in our yard. I can't believe your Mom didn't let you go out. Well, maybe it's just as well. Since no one bothered him, maybe that turkey will come back and bring 20 or 30 friends and then you'll be allowed out because it'll be an invasion. Yeah, that's probably what'll happen. Very clever plan, Cloud.

Maybe you coulda even helped your mom get ready for Thanksgiving dinner a little bit early! Humans! Sometimes I just don't know what's wrong with 'em.

We are one of those families that has wild turkeys all of the time. They like to tease us when we are out for a walk. But they leave great treats laying on the ground. Wait, why are the humans going ewwwwww.
